My Story

Youth and Pre-College

It all started when I was about 7 years old. The public school system I was in was offering free Suzuki group classes, and I told my mom I wanted nothing to do with it!

Thankfully, a classmate raved to me about the program and the director was gracious enough to let me enroll late a few weeks later. Many thanks to Rachel for telling me violin was fun!

As the years passed, I knew that music was something I enjoyed immensely, but I knew very little about what it meant to have a life in it.

During high school I spent my time playing for groups such as the Connecticut Youth Symphony, Eastern Regionals Orchestra, and CMEA All-State Orchestra.

Undergrad and the Pandemic

From 2020-2023, I earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut while COVID-19 kept school online.

I was extremely grateful to work with Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv, as she opened my mind to a whole new world and level of music-making.

It was during these years that I got to meet and play for some of the greatest artists of today including Ray Chen, The Emerson Quartet, and the Takacs Quartet.

From 2023-2024, I spent the year performing with the BPYO, under the baton of the legendary Maestro Benjamin Zander. I was so grateful for the opportunity to perform with this group and meet lifelong friends. The year concluded with a two-week European tour that included performances at the Berlinphilharmonie, Musikverein, and the Elphilharmonie Hamburg, among others.

The Eastman School of Music

In the Fall of 2024, I moved to Rochester, NY to earn a Master’s in Instrumental Performance degree from the famed Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Phillip Ying of the Grammy-winning Ying Quartet.

While at Eastman, I expanded my passion for teaching and string pedagogy through being a teaching assistant in the music teaching and learning department and developed a recurring chamber music concert series in the community: “Chamber Music at St. Joseph’s Church.”
